Rcube isn’t just a business; it’s a long journey that began long before the company even had a name.
Ravi and Mahesh Ravariya grew up surrounded by printers and cartridges, thanks to their father’s business. What began as playtime in their childhood workshop unknowingly gave them their first glimpse into the world of printing and its hidden waste problem.
From an early age, the brothers worked alongside their family, building discipline and a natural curiosity about how businesses operate. After school, Ravi went on to study Accounts & Finance, while Mahesh pursued Civil Engineering. Like many young professionals, they dreamed of studying abroad and building stable careers.
But in 2016, everything changed.
When the government amended the E-waste Management Rules, every producer of e-waste, whether an individual, corporate, institution, or government body, was required to dispose of waste through a formal, recognised recycling system.
Soon after, one of their corporate clients asked them to collect used cartridges. Not wanting to lose the client, they agreed and began searching for a way to recycle them.
Intrigued, the brothers developed a prototype solution and presented it at a college pitch competition, where they won recognition for their idea. At first, they considered leaving it behind; their focus was still on higher education and stable careers.
But the seed had been planted. The more they researched, the more they realised this wasn’t just an academic experiment, it was a chance to solve a real environmental problem.
With mentors’ encouragement, Ravi and Mahesh made a bold choice: instead of chasing secure jobs abroad, they decided to build something new. Fueled by youthful conviction and their family’s deep connection to the printer industry, they launched Rcube with one mission:
To close the loop on printer cartridge waste by following one promise: reduce, reuse, recycle.
What began as two brothers experimenting with an idea has grown into a DPIIT-recognised startup trusted by corporates, institutions, and government bodies across India and globally.
Rcube now provides:
And at the heart of it all, the same belief remains:
Trash isn’t the end of the story; it’s the start of a smarter future.
Every year, millions of cartridges end up in landfills, releasing:
From landfilling to filling land, we are making a difference
